October 21 was our last of a three day run. Wednesday, Friday and Monday were all great sailing days at Rondeau Bay. I sailed a 6.3 Ezzy sail on my Hi-Tec 9 foot board and was overpowered sometimes but it kept me going through the lulls. Les Squires was on his 4.2 most of the time and on a 5.0 sometimes and he was hard to catch. Don Ferguson favoured his 5.5 sail and had a blast. September 10, 2013 the forecast was calling for 18 to 22 mph SW winds so Maureen and I headed to Rondeau Bay for a day of fun. We arrived at 10:30 AM and the whitecaps were looking good so I set up and Maureen got on the water around eleven. There were five or more kiters already sailing and Don Ferguson was sailing his windsurfer way down the bay towards Lake Erie. Maureen was taking it easy as she had not been sailing for two years so she stayed in the shallow water inside the pier for a couple of hours. I got on the water about 11:30 and found that my 6.3 Ezzy sail was just right and I headed across the bay and back with steady winds of about 18 mph. Finally Maureen took a run with me and she did great doing a water start in the deep half way across. Our friend Les Squires opted to sail at Long Beach a hundred miles east near Welland, Ontario, Canada and Les had a great day too. Friend and kiter John Smith arrived shortly after us and John has mastered kite boarding with finesse. Later in the day there were about ten kiters and seven windsurfers and having a great time on the water.
