The Skydog Report

OK so this time I am unable to make the trip as I need to get some medical issues fixed up. Oded is heading to Wallaby Ranch along with Rob Skinner from Buffalo NY. Oded and Rob will send me reports of their flying and I will post them here.

The Oded Kalir and Robert Skinner Report

Sunday December 17, 2017 and we arrived early this morning and set up our gliders. As this is Rob's first time flying at Wallaby Ranch he will be doing some light air flights to show Malcolm that he is right on with aerotowing. Oded reports that there were small rasty thermals and he survived for a half hour.

Monday December 18, 2017 and Oded reports a beautiful sunny morning with daytime temps of 84 degrees. Hard to believe that such a nice day did not deliver the goods (Lift) Everyone had sled runs. Mick Robson took off later in his floater and had well over an hour airtime. Rob reports having four extended sledders and is ready or some great lift. It was hot and humid today. High pressure is moving away so maybe Tuesday will be good.

Tuesday December 19, 2017 and Oded says a real nice day and
I flew North to Wal-Mart on rt 27  and came back because I didn't have faith in the thermals . They were on all sides of the clouds or not anywhere to be found. Scott L.  had a great flight as well. Griffin Hochstetter did very well on his U-2 today . Pete Pfeiffer, Tommy's friend who flies the Atos VX also had a two hour flight. I flew for two hours and forty minutes up to 4,200 feet and Mick Robson beat us all again.
Rob reports having a great flight today Scratching at first but then found a blue sky thermal on the way to the warehouses which took me close to cloud base at 3800 feet. Then the wind switched ninety degrees and the sand pit was working. Ran back over to the warehouses where some guys we're at cloud base but apparently I picked the wrong route because I lost everything there and couldn't find anything to get back up on. Had a little over an hour. Starting to get the hang of it.

Wednesday December 20, 2017 and too windy today so off to Cocoa Beach. Walked the nature preserve and played 3 hours table tennis.

Thursday December 21, 2017 and a little to windy today but Friday and Saturday look good so we will see.

Friday December 22, 2017  A foggy morning and the sun breaks though late but not much for thermals so we take sledders.

Saturday December 23, 2017 Oded and Rob head home.
